My Goals

Small wins, big wins, anything is more achievable with a goal. Here are a few of my short-term and long-term goals.

1. Be the Best Neighbor - I'm already on track for this one. My neighbors are some of my best friends and I regularly invite them over for food or desserts. My tiny living room holds 3 couches and a piano for special occasions, and I welcome friends dropping in at any time of the day to chat or eat. When I'm on my own I'm gonna have the most fun house in the neighborhood, and I'll invite everyone over for potlucks and parties.

2. Be a Valuable Employee - I don't want to trudge to work every day just to get paid, I want to be someone who does what an employees should do: make money for the company, and in turn I want to be valued and respected.

3. Give 3 More Compliments and 3 Fewer Critiques per Day - I find that I hold others to high standards than I hold myself. I need to work on lifting up others and being encouraging and supportive. I need to teach instead of criticize.

4. Learn Splunk - This is a powerful software I learned about recently that can really help me with data analysis in the professional world. I want to integrate this with my other analysis knowledge, such as SQL and Tableau, in my work life.

5. Closet Clean-Out - I have some clothes that are getting really worn.

6. Keep All my Houseplants Alive - These actually take a lot of dedication and care! I love them, but after a fun-in with fungus last week, I must say, you can't just treat them like decorations.

7. Have Chickens - Real life chickens. Little friends and fresh eggs. Someday I'll have a big backyard for them.
